Hip Pain

The hip complex is crucial to function of the pelvic floor and vice versa. The Pelvic Floor is part of the “rotator cuff” of the Hip and is involved in hip stability, coordination, and movement patterns (especially rotation). If pelvic floor system is not working correctly, it can cause hip pain and dysfunctions.

Conversely, if the hip is not working properly because of pain, stiffness, or weakness it can cause the pelvic floor to suffer and make pelvic symptoms such as pain, prolapse, or leakage worse. Ensuring optimal hip function is crucial for pelvic health rehabilitation so we will look at this with every patient.
